Meet the Collective: Brittney Briggs
Meet Brittney Briggs, the kind of artist who reminds you why we do this work on a daily basis
When I started this collective, my main drive was to create a space for creatives to thrive.
First and foremost, we are all artists. Sure, we need to make money for rent, but that’s not why we do what we do. We’re in this field because it makes us feel connected—to the world, to each other. It’s what makes us feel alive. The “making money part” just allows us to keep going with this crazy industry we’ve gotten ourselves into.

That spirit lives within the collective members I have the joy to work with every day.
Periodically in this newsletter, I’m going to introduce you to the different members of Edits Etc. I want you to get to know the person behind the computer screen.
For our first introduction, I couldn’t think of anyone who better exudes the collective mantra of collaboration, integrity, and creativity than Brittney Briggs. As a Director, Video Editor, DP, and all-around kind human, Brittney brings her all to every project she works on. Most recently, Brittney edited the videos we created for the UFC. Check out Kayla and Merab’s videos to see her work!
I first had the pleasure of meeting Brittney back in film school, and it’s been a joy to work with them professionally over the years. This is an artist who’s achieved so much, but is also just getting started. I’ll let Brittney take it from here.
Meet the Collective

My Language is Story
My creative world is rooted in storytelling that stirs emotion and lingers long after the screen fades to black. I’m drawn to narratives that explore complexity—whether through the lens of identity, relationships, or the quiet, overlooked moments of everyday life.
I ADMIT IT (Brittney Briggs - Director)
As both a director and editor, I’m fascinated by how tone, rhythm, and emotional nuance shape a viewer’s experience. I love crafting moments that feel intimate, vulnerable, and alive. Currently - my favorite thing right now is a short film I’ll be directing later this year!
Tri Nohbi - OLD MONEY (Brittney Briggs - Director & Co-Editor)
What drives me most is the challenge of translating feeling into form—of taking what’s abstract or internal and building a world around it. My directing style leans into naturalistic performances and visually rich frames, often influenced by music, memory, and lived experience.
FORGIVENESS MAYBE CONSIDERED (Brittney Briggs - Director)
As an editor, I’m deeply intuitive, always seeking the emotional truth of a scene, even if that means breaking convention. I’ve also directed music videos that merge soulful storytelling with stylized aesthetics, and edited branded content that honors authenticity while elevating visual polish.
Jazlyn Martin - PERFECZT (Brittney Briggs - DP & Editor)
Ultimately, I create because I want to shift perspectives—make people feel seen, or reconsider what they thought they knew. Whether through a single shot, a quiet edit, or a line of dialogue, I believe in the power of storytelling to heal, provoke, and connect us.
