Meet the Collective: Jordan Stone
From late-night soup pot steam fixes to major campaigns with UFC and Shake Shack, Jordan Stone is our go-to for animation and VFX magic. Based in Kansas, he brings sharp skills, humor, and collaboration to every project.

INT. NIGHT - HOME OFFICE
JAMES gets a call from the CLIENT at Shake Shack.
Client
We know the ad campaign is due tomorrow, but can you add steam to the soup pot in the opening shot?
James reels from the revelation and gets the word out. One man comes to the rescue, working through the night to add steam to a soup pot for a shot that lasts two seconds.
That man is Jordan Stone.
And scene.

Jordan and I first crossed paths back in 2018. He was leading the animation department while I was a fresh Junior Editor. Our departments overlapped on certain projects, but as the new guy I never got the big animation or VFX jobs.
The first project I remember working on with him was for Amazon AWS, alongside Edits Etc. collective member, Jon Fuentes. That was when I began to see the depth of Jordan’s talent and knowledge in animation and VFX.
Since starting Edits Etc. we’ve teamed up with Jordan on projects for the UFC and Shake Shack. Even though he now works out of Kansas, he remains an essential part of the collective, bringing skill, humor, and sharp instincts to every project.

Jordan Stone, Animation Director and VFX Supervisor
Q: What’s a recent project you’ve worked on that felt exciting or creatively fulfilling?
A: Currently focused on some personal projects that have me pretty excited.
Q: Do you have a go-to creative tool, software, or workflow hack you swear by?
A: Blender, Houdini, and Davinci Resolve (Adobe can go to hell)
Kraken Rum Cocktails (Animation Supervisor, FLIP Fluid Sim Artist):
Q: What’s a piece of media (film, show, music, book) that’s inspired you lately?
A: Alien: Earth is a great continuation of the Alien franchise so far. It perfectly captures the atmosphere of the movies while telling its own compelling story. Incredibly good production quality for episodic television and cool, stylized editing and sound design.
Q: How did you get into this line of work? What drew you to post-production (or your specialty)?
A: I've just always had a passion for storytelling through all of the different mediums (writing, film, animation, video games, etc.). I love combining the creative aspects of telling an interesting story with the more technical, problem solving elements of how to execute it.
WebMD: Managing Migraines (Animation Director/Supervisor)
Q: When you’re not working, where can we find you?
A: Bopping around Kansas City!
Q: What’s a fun fact about you?
A: I like cheese.
Q: Is there a link you want us to plug? Portfolio, Instagram, etc.?
